Resources and useful websites

Sam Learning
One of the premium sites for online learning. There are many schools that subscribe to this site. Improve your grades with every hour of revision. This is a self assessment website and you can gain recognition for the number of hours you complete.

BBC Bitesize
The number one site for revision in the UK. On-going updates to reflect changes to the national curriculum particularly in science. Use this site to keep you informed. There is plenty of interactive material to suit all ages and it’s free.

CBeebies
Lots of useful and interesting activities. A familiar site from the BBC with links to interactive learning.

Anti-bullying
A very comprehensive resource with information on all aspects of how to deal with this important issue. Advice for parents, children and schools. A registered charity that offers the majority of resources for free.

Internet Safety
An informative site with a clear message for parents and youngsters alike.

Study Guides and Strategies
A wealth of tips and strategies to help with learning across the curriculum. Applicable to all ages and free to use.

S-cool
An alternative to the BBC Bitesize website that offers excellent revision material in a range of formats across all subject areas and key stages.

Rate my teacher
Worth a look at your school but you are unlikely to be able to access it from the school network. Keeps your teachers informed about what you think and yes…..they do check it.

Friends Reunited
Keep up to date with what friends are doing once they have left school.

BBC one life
A straight-talking website with information on drugs sex and alcohol.

Talk to Frank
A well presented and informative site. All you need to know about drugs.

The NSPCC
UK based charity website that deals with issues of child abuse and how to get advice on prevention. Help for parents and children alike.

Childline
A well-renowned charity that provides a source of information for children and parents.

Tutorhunt.com
Aim to provide a completely free service for both tutors and students to locate each other. This is an excellent starting point for parents and students who are considering extra tuition in key subjects and a useful reference point for potential tutors.

The Young People's Trust for the Environment
Is a charity which aims to encourage young people's understanding of the environment and the need for sustainability. Some great sections and plenty of material to download for free.

Papyrus-uk.org
UK resources and support for those dealing with suicide, depression or emotional distress – particularly teenagers and young adults. PAPYRUS is a voluntary UK organisation committed to the prevention of young suicide and the promotion of mental health and emotional wellbeing.
